Delhi · Home renovation
Renovating a home you already live in is a different problem from fitting out a new flat. There is furniture to protect, a kitchen you still need to cook in, and a family whose routine cannot simply pause for two months. In Delhi's older homes the problem compounds: once walls and floors are opened, it is common to find plumbing routed differently than expected, wiring that doesn't meet current load requirements, or waterproofing that was never done properly the first time.
Interiovation runs renovations of lived-in Delhi homes as structured, turnkey projects: a detailed site survey before any number is quoted, a fixed itemised price, a locked work sequence, and one point of contact from protection sheeting to snag-free handover. A contractor who quotes a fixed number without surveying the site is guessing — we don't.
In new construction, trades work roughly bay-by-bay. In a renovation, every trade works around existing structure, existing wiring and existing occupants — get the order wrong and finished work gets redone, like repainting a wall after conduit is cut into it. Our sequence is fixed: survey and protection first, then demolition, civil and waterproofing, first-fix electrical and plumbing, false ceiling and plaster, paint and flooring, carpentry installation, second-fix fittings, final touch-up and deep clean, and a joint snagging walkthrough before you move back in fully.
For a full renovation of an occupied 2–3BHK — new flooring, painting, modular kitchen, wardrobes, bathroom updates — a realistic Delhi timeline runs 8 to 14 weeks depending on scope; cosmetic-only work can run 3–5 weeks. Renovations confined to one or two rooms at a time usually let the family stay in the home with proper dust sealing; full-home scopes touching every room are often faster and saner with a temporary move-out. We plan site logistics around your answer to that question, not around our convenience.
A renovation budget needs lines a new-flat fit-out doesn't: demolition and debris removal, protection or storage for what stays, and a contingency of 10–15% specifically for concealed-work discoveries — higher than new construction, because existing conditions are unknown until uncovered. A detailed pre-quote survey reduces that risk; it never eliminates it, and a quote that pretends otherwise is hiding the difference.
Season matters too. Monsoon (roughly July–September) is the hardest window for waterproofing and civil work; peak summer heat slows paint curing; winter (November–February) is Delhi's most favourable stretch for interior work — and, unsurprisingly, when contractor demand peaks. We schedule weather-sensitive stages around the season rather than leaving them to chance, and book winter starts ahead.

FAQ
What Delhi homeowners ask before handing over their keys.
A full renovation of an occupied 2–3BHK — flooring, painting, modular kitchen, wardrobes, bathrooms — realistically runs 8 to 14 weeks, with structural or layout changes pushing that further. Cosmetic-only scopes (paint and minor carpentry, no civil change) can finish in 3–5 weeks. Older properties trend longer because of what opening walls reveals.
For work confined to one or two rooms at a time, usually yes — with proper sealing, dust and noise can be contained and the rest of the home stays liveable. For full-home renovations touching every room, moving out temporarily is often cheaper in disruption than it looks on paper. It's a genuine trade-off, and we plan the site around whichever you choose.
Because in a lived-in home the unknowns are behind the walls — old plumbing runs, under-spec wiring, failed waterproofing. A survey lets us inspect visible signs of all three before pricing, which is what makes a fixed itemised quote honest. We also carry a stated 10–15% contingency line for concealed-work discovery instead of springing it mid-project.
Winter (November–February) offers the most stable conditions — good curing for paint and adhesives, no monsoon delays — and is also peak demand, so book ahead. Monsoon mainly threatens waterproofing and civil stages; plenty of indoor work (carpentry, electrical, interior painting) runs fine year-round if the weather-sensitive stages are sequenced around the season.
